Knitting Tutorial - Making the neck for a Blythe Sweater
(For Tibiloo and JazzBaby)
After going noting all day on Sunday I woke up this morning full or energy and made this tutorial...because people seem to have diffulty grasping the meaning behind the pattern...which isn't always easy, especially in other languages.
First - Get to the point where you are ready to make the neck. Please don't worry too much about the number of stitches on the needle...just get the idea. Sorry! I did mess the numbers up a bit!
Step 1
Cast Off the stitches in the middle of the row to separate the left and right front shoulder sections:
Step 1a
Purl back - just on the stitches before the cast off.
Step 2a
Decrease (aka. Knit 2 together) the first 2 stitches
Step 2b
This is just showing that you are only working on the stitches on the left...forming the left side of the neckline.
Step 3
Another one where you can see the rows on the left better - hopefully!
Step 4
Purl back
Step 5
Decrease (knit 2 together) at the beginning of the next knit row again.
Step 6
Cast off purlwise.
Step 7
Cut the yarn when all the stitches are cast off.
One side is done!
Step 8
Rejoin the yarn with the wrong side facing and purl to the end
Step 9
Knit.....but decrease (knit 2 together) the last 2 stitches (not shown in this pic)
Step 10
Decrease (knit 2 together) the last 2 stitches (vaguely shown here a bit)
Step 11
Purl back
Step 12
Knit and decrease in the last 2 stitches
Step 13
Cast off purlwise = finished!
</ljcut>
Finished!!
Congratulations!! I hope this is OK - I really don't think I can explain in any more detail!
